We get it, it’s easy to grab a mint, cover up your breath problems, and go on with your day. The bad news is that most mints are loaded with sugar. And after the mint is gone, all that is left is a sugary residue that actually feeds the bacteria causing your breath problems. If you have to, chew on some sugar-free gum instead.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking water like it is going out of style is the best thing you can do to stave off bad breath. Why? Because your saliva naturally eliminates the bacteria in your mouth responsible for the foul breath, but in order for saliva to be produced, you need to drink enough water. If you can get it with fluoride, that is even better!

Floss For Fun

Fighting bad breath is really a matter of battling bacteria. Besides using a toothbrush, flossing is a great weapon in this war. Try to floss twice a day or more to better eradicate bacteria from in-between your teeth and hard to reach areas of your mouth.

Your Tongue Matters

We have found that if you struggle with ongoing bad breath, it helps to take the time to scrape and brush your tongue twice a day.
