How much would you like to transform your smile? And how much would you like to wear braces for two years or more?

Even if you are in favor of doing something to improve the appearance of your teeth, you may prefer a solution that takes less time than traditional braces to finish the job.

If that sounds like you, then you need to learn about Six Month Smiles by visiting our dentist office in Holly, MI. Call 877-321-1933 or contact us online.

Six Month Smiles used a targeted approach to orthodontic care to give you a straighter smile in a fraction of the time of metal braces. It’s also one of the many services that we offer at Holly Dental Care.

What Are Six Month Smiles?

This service is an orthodontic treatment. Like braces, it uses brackets and wires to move your teeth into different positions.

Unlike traditional orthodontic care, however, Six Month Smiles is strictly a cosmetic service. This limits the number of teeth that need to be moved, and that can cut your treatment time to less than half of what it would take with conventional braces.

Six months is the average time for treatment, but that can vary by a few months depending on the specifics of your situation.

What Can Six Month Smiles Do For You?

Six Month Smiles can change your smile, but it can do more than that, based on what we’ve seen in our office. When patients feel better about their smiles, it affects many of them on an emotional level, too.

Seeing your new smile with your straight teeth can give you a boost of self-confidence. And that can make a big difference in many aspects of your life.

Now from a more literal standpoint, Six Month Smiles can be used to correct a variety of alignment issues that may be affecting your teeth.

Many people have gaps between two or more of their teeth. If you would prefer to have your teeth closer to one another, Six Month Smiles can make that happen.

You also may have teeth that are crooked or overlap one another. This short-term orthodontic treatment can realign your teeth so they appear to parallel to each other. Six Month Smiles also can help with overbites and other issues as well.

The best way to find out if Six Month Smiles can help you is to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists.

How Does Six Month Smiles Work?

As we mentioned above, Six Month Smiles uses brackets and wire like traditional braces. But unlike conventional braces, Six Month Smiles only moves certain teeth.

To understand why all you need to do is look at your smile in a mirror. When you do this, what teeth do you see? Do you see the teeth all the way in the back of your mouth? Or, do the teeth in the front of your mouth dominate your smile?

Moving those teeth in the front will make the biggest difference in your smile. Six Month Smiles only moves those teeth.

In addition to moving fewer teeth, there is another advantage that saves time on your treatment compared to conventional braces. Look in the mirror again, only open your mouth this time so you can see the teeth in the back.

Those larger teeth in the back are molars. They are heavier than the teeth in the front of your mouth. Since you will only be moving the lighter teeth, this too speeds up the time it takes to create your new smile.

How To Keep Your New Smile

Once you’ve finished wearing your Six Month Smiles braces, you will need to wear a retainer at least temporarily. This is to help keep your teeth in their new positions.

You’ll also want to make the effort to protect your smile by practicing good preventive dental care. That means brushing and flossing daily. It also means visiting Holly Dental Care a few times every year for professional dental cleanings and exams.

You can make your appointment by contacting us online or by calling 877-321-1933.

We don’t just want to help you create a smile that you’ll want to share in person and in “selfies” for social media. We want you to keep your smile for life.
